French Provincial Stone Estate

A beautiful French Provincial style home and landscaping for a modern life.

The house is oriented to have southern exposure to the rear and to maximize the view down to the lake from the house. The rear terrace has fountains, and stone steps that cascade gently down the slope to the field below. The site is sloping and there was much design collaboration between us the Architects and Landscape Architects when integrating the house into the landscape.

The French Provincial stone home has granite lintels, limestone trim, bronze metal windows, a thick graduated slate roof, and botanical detailed copper scuppers and leaders. The front entry is surrounded by a detailed limestone arch, the door is designed in thick white oak with custom hardware and lit with copper lanterns.

Inside the home, the main Foyer Stair Hall has a 2 story glass bow window with oak paneling and iron railings. The Foyer floor is antique limestone imported from France, inlaid between oak accents.

The fireplaces are surrounded by custom-designed limestone hearths.

The indoor pool is designed as an old stone barn with a plaster interior and wood timber roof structure. The pool is surrounded by reclaimed antique bluestone pavers. The metal doors can be opened to let the outside in. The doors slide into the wall to open up the pool to the exterior for the summer months.

There is a steel skylight that runs the length of the pool. It lets the sunlight in during the day and the night sky while swimming in the evening.
